Adult Short Story

Conditions of Entry:

  • Topic: Open
  • No entry form needed.
  • The competition will be judged by author Vincent McDonnell.
  • The competition is open to all adult writers.
  • Closing date: Friday 10th August 2007.
  • Maximum number of words - 600
  • Entries must be typed on A4 paper and double spaced.
  • The judge's verdict is final. No correspondence will be entered into once work has been submitted.
  • Entries will not be returned. Please ensure to keep a copy.
  • €5.00 entry fee. Cheque or postal order should be made payable to the "Dromineer Literary Festival".
  • The Festival cannot be responsible for cash payments sent by post.
  • Entries must be original, unpublished work.
  • Entrants name and address should not appear on the entry, but on a separate attached sheet which should also note the title of the entry.
  • Entries to be sent to: Dromineer Literary Festival Short Story Competition, Arra Lodge, Youghalarra, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
  • Copyright will remain with the competitor but the Dromineer Literary Festival reserves the right to arrange the first publication or broadcast of the winning entry as they see fit.
  • The competition winners will be announced at the launch of the 4rd Dromineer Literary Festival on Friday 28th September at the Lough Derg Yacht Club, Dromineer.
  • Submission of a story implies the competitor's acceptance of the conditions set out herein.

Adult Poetry Competition

  • The competition will be judged by Pat Boran, Poet, Publisher and Broadcaster.
  • The competition is open to all adult writers.
  • Closing date: Friday 10th August 2007.
  • Maximum number of lines per poem – 40
  • Entries must be typed on A4 paper.
  • The judge’s verdict is final. No correspondence will be entered into once work has been submitted.
  • Entries will not be returned. Please ensure to keep a copy.
  • Entry fee: €3.00 for the first entry and €1.00 per poem thereafter. Cheque or postal order should be made payable to the “Dromineer Literary Festival”. The Festival cannot be responsible for cash payments sent by post.

Children's Poetry Competition.

As in previous years, this competition will be organised through local schools.
